Any good anime/manga communities?

I've been getting back into anime and manga, but have been doing so in a vacuum. Would love to find more fans online, but japanese media fans can be...you know...
I really just want a sort of...positive energy place where I can see other geek out and maybe geek out a bit myself. A lot of anime spaces online are very "more anime than thou," with people lording over their superior knowledge of japanese media or whatnot. And of course on top of that there can by a lot of sexism and whatnot. But really, my main desire is just to be able to partake in japanese media related geeking out, ideally in a place that has at least a moderate amount of traffic. r/anime seems pretty not great. I'm wondering if there might be forums? Discords? I dunno!
I will say that LGBT friendliness would be a big plus, though it doesn't have to be the focus. I am a bi guy and enjoy gay media, though I haven't dug much into japanese gay media. But I imagine there may be friendlier communities oriented around that? I enjoy chinese danmei (boy love) for example and those communities are pretty friendly, though the ones I've found are pretty low volume (though I'm sure there are higher volume ones) (of course danmei is by women and for women, but I've found that as long as I'm respectful of that (eg not constantly saying "but gay men aren't like that!!!!!! wtf!!!!!") there is plenty of space for me in those communities and they have generally had the positive, supportive type of enthusiasm that I like).
I doubt anyone here will particularly enjoy a community of edgelords, though, so really I'm open to anything!

I hate to say “have you tried tumblr” but… have you tried tumblr? I find it the most supportive and explicitly queer friendly fannish space, though a lot depends on which corners of fandom you’re into. I know nothing about danmei but I bet that the right tags on tumblr would find you some good peeps to follow.

Anime fandom online is really young. If you're over 30 (over 24 really), I would hesitate to recommend interacting with any of it, especially any SJ series. However, I remember you've asked about Japanese in the past, so you may want to try lurking in Japanese Twitter for shows you like. I had a good experience with that recently.
