Self-taught game developer released horrible source code (not VVVVVV!)

A couple of years ago I read about an artist that had some cool graphics and stuff for a 2D platformer, but no programmer to implement the game itself. They taught themselves to program and managed to cobble together a working, enjoyable game that was a modest success on Steam. Then they released the source code, which was, ahem, "unconventional". IIRC, the concept of loops in code had eluded them, and the resulting solutions to overcome this little lack of understanding was nothing short of glorious.

I want to see that source code again. Anyone remembers this story? And no, it was not Terry Cavanaugh's VVVVVVV.

Response by poster: That's the one, thanks!

I sort of enjoy the fact that I'm a much better programmer than this author, but the number of cool little games I've released is exactly zero...
