Saturday Night Live ticket lottery - who has this worked for?

I signed up on the first available day (at the first available hour), for tickets to see Saturday Night Live in person. They say they'll send an email if approved, which could come almost any time throughout the season. Has anyone here successfully gotten tickets this way -- if so, can you share some of the contents of the email so I can make sure it isn't filtered to my spam or other folders?

For those interested, you can sign up during the month of August for a random lottery for SNL tickets. You don't get to choose which dates, and you may only get tickets for the dress rehearsal. Natch: It's too late to sign up for this season (I set a calendar reminder last year to be notified for this year).

Aside from flagging all emails with SNL or Saturday Night Live as priority emails, I want to make sure if a confirmation does come, I don't miss it!

I set a calendar reminder and did this for several years and never got picked in the lottery. But I did want you to know that I have heard that the dress rehearsal can be better than the actual show so don't be disappointed if you only get tickets for that.

I concur that dress is especially fun, because you'll see things that won't make it to air. I got tickets the first year I entered, to the dress of Roseanne & Tom Arnold/Red Hot Chili Peppers, but obviously that was in 1992 and so I'm no help on the email text.

You could make it a habit to check your spam folder. I do every day, and am surprised to see what ends up in there.

Did they send an e-mail when you registered just to confirm your registration? I would think it would be likely that an e-mail informing you that you were chosen would likely come from the same domain - if not the same address - as the confirmation e-mail, which are both easy to whitelist.

Best answer: There are a handful of people in r/LiveFromNewYork who have won tickets via lottery - I’d search the sub to see what you can find, or post the question there.

It was many years ago but I got tickets to the dress rehearsal for the episode when Sinead O'Conner ripped up the picture of the Pope. She didn't do that during the rehearsal..
