Searching for a short story about identical twins on a train

Probably around 10 years ago I read a short story about a pair of identical twins. The bulk of the story took place with the twins traveling together on a train. One of them falls asleep, and ends up meeting someone (?) and abandoning her twin. I think that maybe the person they met claimed to have some sort of opportunity that only one person could take, but I'm not positive of that. I'd like to read it again, but I have no idea what it's called — anyone know?

More details:

* I read this in a library in California, at least 5 years ago, but I think closer to 8-10 years ago. I don't know how old or new the book was at that time.
* It was part of a collection of short stories, I think all by the same author.
* The characters were women, probably in their teens/early adulthood (or about that age, I'm not sure if it was specified though)
* The twins had been in close proximity growing up, and did many things in the same way/had a very good understanding of how the other thought.
* There may have been a plot point involving the twins having differing opinions on spicy food.
* The story ends with the twin who was left on the train saying that she would never have abandoned her sister, if the roles were reversed.
* I think it was a YA sort of reading level, although that could be off in either direction.
