California DMV New Title - Gonna Take a While?

How long will it take to get a new title from the California DMV after buying out a lease?

I bought out my lease and submitted all the paperwork to the California DMV so I can get a new title with only my name on it. The process was pretty smooth - I submitted the necessary documents online and then sent all the hard copies in. They have been very responsive to emails. However, when I asked today how long it will take, now that they have all the paperwork, to get the new title that's in my name only, they said 60-90 days. My heart sank because a company is waiting to buy the car from me at a good profit margin for me and I already have a new car.

Based on recent experience anyone else has in California, does it really take 60-90 days?

Thanks.

You might try doing this if you have copies of everything.

Response by poster: Thanks. Unfortunately it says there "As part of our efforts to protect the health and safety of the public and our employees, effective immediately the Rush Title processing service will be unavailable."

Just getting a simple duplicate California title pre-corona (late 2019/early 2020) took forever for me, unfortunately, so I can believe the 60-90 days estimate.

Based on my experience from October 2020 with a title update that took about two months to process, yes, the 60-90 day estimate is accurate.
