An important point that I'm sure is obvious from some of the answers is that many astronomical names are lifted straight out of Greek and Roman mythology, so that's another good place to look.

I believe the scientific name for a gorilla is Gorilla Gorilla Gorilla. Kind of drills the point home, no?
