survey stitch up

I got an email from a company asking me to complete a survey in exchange for an amazon voucher. This is broadly not uncommon. So I filled in their survey and thought no more about it. However they have just emailed me saying that my email address "was included in error" so instead they're offering an extra long free trial of their service. This has irked me.

It doesn't particularly bother me not to receive the amazon voucher (except on principle) but it does sort of feel like a breach of contract. They offered something in exchange for a service, I performed the service. They should now pay up no?
I'm further annoyed at this being turned into a marketing push.

So, is it worth me making a fuss?
Could I at least get them to confirm that they have deleted my survey responses, given that they haven't paid for them?

Is it reasonable for me to be annoyed at the company? Or am I overreacting?

You are reasonable to be annoyed and honestly it sounds like a scam to get you to sign up for the free trial.

Yeah I'm assuming that more people than expected completed the survey, and they are fibbing. It is reasonable to be annoyed especially if the free trial involves giving them your credit card #.

I doubt that you could enforce them deleting your survey response but it might be worth writing back and saying you've decided due to their handling of this issue that you won't be using their product.

They scammed you and it's not okay. If they're in the US, report them to their state's Attorney General.

It is entirely reasonable to be upset about lying liars lying to you.

If you are not in a GDPR country, I doubt you can get the lying liars to delete your data.
