Recommendations for turning an old Kindle Fire into a photo display

I am currently working on reorganizing our family photos, and I have an old 7" Kindle Fire that's not really doing anything. So I am looking for recommendations for your preferred Kindle or Google Play app that can slideshow photos over the network, either from a local file share or remote from Google Drive. Paid is OK. What app have you used and liked?

Honestly, google photos works great for this, as much as I hate it for all sorts of other reasons.

If you do want to trade it in. Amazon does have a good program for it, gets you 20% off a new kindle.
