Sleeper chair recommendations?

Do you have a recommendation for or against a particular sleeper chair? It should be comfortable both as a chair and as a bed.

Best answer: I just received the Crate & Barrel Fuller Twin Sleeper Sofa, which I would characterize as a chair-and-a-half -- there's also a narrower version that unfolds into a cot instead of an XL-twin.

It's made by American Leather, which I'd heard a lot of good things about. The bed conversion mechanism is pretty simple (just take off the cushions and pull a handle; it folds back in with similar ease) and doesn't require any extra space behind the chair (mine's right up against the wall). The default fabric is nice: soft hand-feel with a slightly nubby texture.

The seat cushions are somewhat too soft and yielding (and I like super soft cushions). I tried sitting on one in the store before buying and figured that one had been extra broken-in, but it actually provided a good idea of what my new one feels like. The mattress is a little on the firm side. I'm planning offering a mattress topper to guests, but I could see some preferring to use it as-is.

One of my main criteria was size, but otherwise I would have seriously considered the Mansfield instead (also a C&B/American Leather collaboration with what looks like the same mattress) -- it comes in both twin and cot versions, and I remember the seat cushions being firmer in a good way, but the rolled arms made it too wide for the space I wanted it in.

Response by poster: Thanks for such a thorough review.

Unfortunately, those particular chairs are out of my budget range.
