Lesser-known galleries for installation-ish art near Baltimore/DC?

Now that I'm vaccinated, I'd like to plan a day trip to see art in Baltimore or DC. Problem is, I'm bored with all of the big galleries. What other places should I check out? (I'm looking for more modern stuff – especially installation / video / experiential art.)
I've been to all of the big public galleries in Baltimore and DC a hundred times: the BMA, the Renwick, the Corcoran, the American Visionary Art Museum, etc. I want to see something new.
I'm hoping to find places that are a bit off the beaten path. That could mean independent, artist-run galleries that exhibit this kind of work (e.g., Culture House in DC). Or it could be commercial galleries that make money by charging admission (e.g, Artechouse in DC).
Or anything else that offers a fresh experience. Or anything else that comes to mind as you read this question (even if it doesn't strictly fit all of these criteria).
I understand that some places still haven't fully reopened. I'd still like to know about them, for future trips.
Thanks!

Glenstone is outside of DC but not that far of a drive. You have to get (timed, free) tickets and they're usually grabbed pretty quickly, but a batch for August will be released on June 1. (I thought there was a way to sign up if they had openings but it's sometimes worth checking back frequently if your plans can be flexible.)

Planet Word just opened in DC. I visited in April. It's not art, but it's a very cool experience.

Torpedo Factory Art Center I didn't see this site listed above so you might check out this link to see if it's what you are looking for.

Take a look at the Atlas Obscura map. It might have some sites that interest you in that area; I found the National Capital Radio & Television Museum in Bowie on the map and really enjoyed it when I visited a few years ago.
