Hair cut and color on the Upper East Side?

I moved to New York a few months ago from DC and desperately need a hair cut and color. (It's been more than a year since my last!) Any good recommendations of a nice salon on the Upper East Side? Ideally, I'd love to find one person who does cut and color, but I know that can be rare. Thanks!

How far uptown do you need to be?

I can recommend a salon at 51st between 2nd and 3rd. The owner Mark de Alwis does cut and color, as does senior staff Noel and Therese. I have been a client of Mark's perhaps 11 years?

I can't vouch for the cuts they give, but I've had good color experiences at Mure Salon on 2nd Avenue at 81st. They have an IG page with samples of their work.

I have been going to the Thomas Taft UES location for a few years and have always had a great experience.
