Sheffield Ahoy!

LongshotFilter: Does anyone have a room going in a shared house in Sheffield, UK? Or, failing that, any advice for moving in with people I don't know in a city I've visited less than 5 times?

I'm moving up to Sheffield from Norwich in less than a month and as of yet do not have somewhere to live. I've been living a pretty quiet life for the last couple of years (it was much needed) but I'm ready to get out there and party again. I know two people in Sheffield but not that well and my sister is there so I can crash on her floor for a couple of weeks if necessary. I feel like I need some adventure and moving in with some randoms I hardly know might be a good start. Any advice for things I should look out for when looking round a house-share/meeting future house mates? Or how to get off on a good foot in a new city?

You will find lots of lovely Sheffield residents on SheffieldForum.co.uk.

What's more, Gumtree has a Sheffield section.

You will of course be moving to one of Britain's great musical capitals, home of everyone from the Human League to Pulp. So there's plenty of intrigue to be found right there. And the city's really coming together these days, so I wish you all the best.

Response by poster: Thanks for the links skylar, all I'd found up until now was clickflatshare. It does seem like a fantastic place to be moving too, I'm really starting to get excited! As you say, a veritable breeding ground for excellent music!
