Is there a doorbell camera for a peephole that isn't so obvious?

I know Ring sells a peephole "doorbell" camera that's actually pretty nice, but I'm wondering if there's a product that hides most of the newfangled stuff inside so that the door just looks normal. I don't want to submit a request to my HOA to add a doorbell camera, and I just want a normal-looking front door. Preferably, no monthly service fees?

Google diy hidden cams. Answer is yes, but probably some service fees.

There are other peephole cams, but they are generally not smart doorbells.
