Good, well organized, interactive online events?

I’m looking for online groups that provide regular social interaction, are well-organized, and involve working towards some sort of common goal. What are good events that fit this bill?

Either events or volunteer organizations seem like they could be good.

Some things that I’d like:
  • Well run (or at least the expectation that it’s well run, and people are open to feedback to improve that, but ideally it’s just well run)
  • A recurring event/commitment, ideally with the same set of people most of the time
  • I participate, it’s interactive
  • A small number of people (or at least, breakout rooms with a small number of people)
  • I have input, can contribute something
  • Working towards a common goal, or at least there’s a purpose to the meeting that feels good and exciting

My friends and I do Zoom trivia nights and Zoom DnD nights regularly. Both events tick off every one of your boxes. I look forward to them every time.

classicsbookclub[dot]online/
is new, but an expansion of a successful transition from real world bookclub to online bookclub

Learning a language online in small group sessions hosted by a language school that used to be bricks and mortar (so they recognise the importance of being participatory) or emphasises the participatory group aspect fits this bill too

You might look for Wikipedia edit-a-thons. Basically, people band together to make Wikipedia better in specific knowledge domains, often correcting for its biases and gaps. Searching for "Wikipedia edit-a-thons 2021" turns up a bunch.
