Where to buy a Blackmagic Design Studio Camera 4K 2?

We need it pretty quickly, and all the authorized sellers have it down as a backorder. Blackmagic themselves can't help.

We are resigned to calling random gear houses around the country and trying to luck into one randomly being in stock, and that is tedious to say the least. We also haven't gotten lucky yet.

Any suggestions for who to call? It needs to be new, and it needs to be faster than ordering through an authorized seller, who are all backordered for an unknown amount of time. We're in the US, so I assume the camera has to be too, but if someone can get it here fast enough, that's not necessarily a deal breaker.

For the sake of the question, please assume that it has to be this specific model, it has to be new, and it has to be in our hands in 7-10 days.

I would try borrowlenses.com and lensrentals.com either rent and return - or ask about rent and purchase.

I have never ordered from or heard of this site, but they list it as In Stock

And the site seems to have positive reviews.

I would not order video equipment online unless it came from one of the major vendors. But you're in a tight situation from the sound of it. Maybe call their number first to confirm? (800) 211-2718.

I don't know anything about these, but there seem to be some on Ebay.

This will be almost impossible to find from a reputable dealer. Blackmagic is a bit behind the demand at the moment and this particular model is also kind of a niche product compared to some of their other cameras.

I spoke with one of my contacts at a big rental house and they suggested trying companies that primarily supply A/V gear for religious institutions. Apparently this has been a popular camera for broadcasting to congregants during Covid lockdown (especially for big churches in the US bible belt).

If there's any possibility that renting is an option, at least for the short term, you'd probably have better luck.

Ok, didn't want to leave you on a negative note and did some more digging - this place might have the camera in stock, but I'm not sure how seriously to take them as a retailer.

They look like a small operation (despite the massive list of locations at the bottom of the page, I guarantee you there's no way they have a presence in all those cities). I tried calling a few of their numbers and nobody answered, even on the West Coast, and they all have the same outgoing message. Proceed at your own risk.
