So Fresh and So Clean (clean)...

What's your favorite body wash? I'm in need of a new one soon.

I've been using up a large container of Philosophy body wash that was a gift, and it's finally almost gone. It was fine; I have no complaints about it. But, interested to see what other people use and love.

No real special skin needs, other than a tendency to dryness, especially in the winter. No particular fragrance aversions, either.

I like st Ives oatmeal & Shea butter body wash. Cheap, pleasant scent (light and not fruity, which I like), and keeps my skin soft (although I need extra lotion in the winter)

I like the l'occitane ones. The verbena is my most common. Also Aveda rosemary mint. I rotate.

This isn’t a sexy answer, but: aqueous cream. I buy it in 500ml tubs from the chemist for £3. No fragrance, and great for dry skin. I rub it on and wipe off under the shower with a washcloth, giving myself gently daily exfoliation. Multiple doctors have told me it’s what they use. It’s super unsexy but I’ve been using it for twenty years and it’s so much better than any body wash I’ve ever tried.

Oh and for luxury, L’Occitane almond shower oil.

I love LUSH products because I get great results from them. They're sadly expensive but a lot of the scents last a long time.

They discontinued my very favorite scent, so I've been trying a few different ones. Here are my faves so far*:

the olive branch (I find this one hard to describe, read the reviews)
happy hippy (grapefruit in your face)

And I use their conditioner with the same scent as this: american cream (smells like a strawberry love bomb) and now I'm gonna have to buy a bottle and try it so thanks for this ask!

*links are to the LUSH US site, as you appear to be located in the US

Olay Ultra Moisture with Shea Butter is my daily go-to. My skin is dry but if I use this along with exfoliating gloves I'm soft and smooth enough to not need body lotion. Soft Soap Luminous Oils is also nicely moisturizing but has more of a fragrance and seems more special than I want for everyday. I mostly use it when getting ready for sexytimes.

Original Source! Lemon Is my favourite- it’s so fresh, and it’s vegan. If you’re in the UK it’s cheap, but in the US I usually Amazon it.

I like EO Grapefruit and Mint and Korres Lemon Basil shower gel.

I like Aesop geranium leaf or a rose by any other name. They have other scents but those are my go to. Vegan and no animal testing.

Another vote for St Ives - I really like the citrus and cherry blossom scent. I've bought multiple bottles in the last year or so and it goes on sale pretty frequently. (Looking at the website, this may be a Canada-only scent)

Bliss Lemon Sage. Amazing fresh fragrance-makes me smile every morning. Had a sample of it that I used for my second child was born-that first shower after giving birth is the best ever-and I still buy it and it makes me happy. She just turned 15 :)

Another vote for The Olive Branch from Lush. It's got a warm bergamot scent.

Jason Lavender Body Wash. Nice lather and scent, also smells great on spouse, A++ will buy again. Available at many stores and online.

Bioderma Atoderm Cleansing Oil. I just discovered this in winter and will keep using it as long as they make it. Super affordable, giant bottle with a pump, has a the feel of an oil but turns to a lathering serum when mixed with water, rinses off clean with no residue, but no dryness either. Light/medium French skincare scent. Magic. Works on sensitive skin too.
Oh and I love the Aesop Geranium Shower gel scent too but in the non-summer months it can be too drying IMO.

Seconding the Jason body wash, I love the rose and herbal scents. That’s what I use in the winter, when I want to avoid anything too drying. In the summer I use Dr. Bronner’s peppermint because it gets me squeaky clean and the mint is tingly and cooling.

Placing my support for yhe l'occitane almond shower oil. It is my go to at the moment. I love the scent, It isn't very flowery but it's distinct and pleasant . It's oily then slightly lathery and it has gotten me through a Chicago winter. It doesn't make my shower slippery. I don't use much of it at once, I've basically gone through the whole winter with one bottle, which helps justify the cost. I might try the bioderma one listed above after mine is empty but I may just stick with what works.

Lush, I love lush, but their soaps aren't my thing, I prefer the bath bomb and bubble products over the soaps.

A MeFite makes this soap, and I love the Wild Honey scent.

Lush soaps dry me out like nobody's business. I have recently switched away from liquid body wash, and use a block of Aleppo soap every day now and my skin really likes it. It leaves no scent.
I use it instead of shampoo, too. Great results.

I don't really have one favorite, I am a bath product dilettante. Usually what I do is wander into a store and just sniff until I find one I like. Which I grant may be difficult to do now...

But another thing I do is get multiple scents on hand to suit whim and mood. Maybe get yourself one of those gift sampler packs so you have a whole "wardrobe" of options? That's how i found the Eucalyptus Spearmint at Bath & Body works; it was part of an "aromatherapy" line they had for a while, and looks like the only thing they still have. It's also how I found the lemon verbena thing at L'Occitane.

I also tend to really like the liquid soap from Dr. Bronner's, particularly the peppermint and lavender. I really don't like super-fake lavender or rose scents - true lavender has sort of an herby note to it, and true rose is unmistakeable from the fake rose. And Dr. Bronner uses true lavender.

Mrs. Meyers Clean Day also has a body wash line, and I enjoyed the basil.

If you like the smell of honey, I recommend Nuxe's Rêve de Miel face and body cleansing gel.

Dr. Bronner's Peppermint Wash. So cool and tingly!

It's ridiculously pricey, but anytime I can find Molton Brown body wash at a discount, I snap it up. Oftentimes one can find variety packs on sale after the holidays. They have very strong scents, so be aware that it's not for the scent averse.

I like a few of Roger & Gallet's scents and shower gels. Right now I have the Bois d'Orange and the Jean-Marie Farina shower gels, they are pricy but very much fresh and clean. They were a 'hold on to remaining shreds of sanity during covid' gift to myself, have found nice scents and bathing products really soothing over the last year.

The Jean-Marie Farina is a traditional Eau de Cologne scent, the more affordable 4711 brand's range including gel and soap is similar. It's a very sharp and invigorating scent.

I've always been a strict bar soap person - I find it much easier to use - but a few months ago I used my SO's Neutrogena Rainbath body wash and loved the scent so much (the original scent - kinda smells like spiced caramel) that I immediately bought some for myself. There's a sort of raspberry-scented one that smells wonderful, too.

My favourite is Davines OI Body Wash. It's expensive, but you only need the tiniest dab, the size of a raspberry, on a sponge to make enough lather for a wonderful shower, so it'll last for ages. It doesn't dry out my (dry) skin, and the fragrance is absolutely gorgeous.
