nonfiction media as an accompaniment to Fargo Season 4

I just finished watching season 4 of Fargo. I know it's not a true story, but I'd like to find and enjoy good non-fiction media (books, documentaries, whatever) that could be a tie-in of sorts - like something about organized crime from the 1950s (or a broader range - maybe anything up to 1970) that's also about personal lives and told masterfully/like a story, not just dumping dry facts.

The latest iteration of Perry Mason was really beautifully photographed with period style sets and clothing set in Los Angeles. The storyline follows the "career" of Aimee Semple-Mc Pherson, and many of the outlandish details hew very close to the actual events of her life.

Honor Thy Father by Gay Talese is about the Bonnano crime family in New York in the 1960s, focusing on son Bill and his father Joe.
