Recommendations for Qatari activists & resources

I want to pass along some resources (things to read, organizations or people to learn from, etc) regarding Qatar and its poor record regarding homophobia, labor exploitation, women's rights, terrorism, etc. What do you recommend? (Qatar-specific preferred but regional groups are good too; anything focused on LGBTQ rights and/or sports is a plus.)
An organization I have supported recently announced a partnership with Qatar. This has given me and others pause given Qatar's poor record regarding homophobia, labor exploitation, women's rights, terrorism, dictatorship, etc. I have the opportunity to pass along some thoughts and resources to the head of the organization, and I want to make sure I'm promoting the voices and perspectives of people who've actually lived these experiences and truly understand the stakes. What activists (individuals or organizations) do you recommend? Qatar-specific is great but activists that do regional work are welcomed too. Anything focused on LGBTQ rights and/or sports would be especially pertinent.
