1980s video with stories about a cherry and a dragon

On behalf of someone else, I'm seeking a 1980s-era videotape with a man telling stories. The only details I have so far: one story was about a maraschino cherry, and one might have been about a dragon who gets too big. Details under the cut!
Sorry I don't have more info, but what I have is this: "There was a VHS tape from the 80s where there was a male telling stories. One story was about a maraschino cherry falling off a table. The man reading the story said 'oh poor maraschino, I’ll take care of you' and one of the stories was about a boy and I think a dragon who got too big and had to go to live in a cave."
I was a little too old to be exposed to what sounds like a story telling video for kids, so I thought I'd run it by you folks to see if anything rings a bell. The maraschino cherry sounds very specific--though my googling efforts so far have mostly found me recipes and real-life news stories about a maraschino factory.
