Very very minor Microsoft Word annoyance

MicrosoftWordFilter: How to always have my default view when I'm opening someone else's file?

People often send me Word documents. We all have our own preferences for how to view such documents (e.g. normal, print layout, 90% magnification, 125% magnification, etc.). Is there a way to tell Word to never use these settings when it opens a document and to always use my preferred ones?

Best answer: Just record a macro to switch to the settings you want,
Save the macro in your normal template and call it AutoOpen

Response by poster: Thanks Lanark. That was very easy. For the curious, more info about AutoOpen is at this Microsoft site.

Thanks from me as well Lanark. This is something that's always bugged me about Word.

Sweet! I share your annoyance at this phenomenon.

This will save me at least two hours a year :).
