Non-elastic sleep shorts

I am looking for a pair of women's sleep/lounge shorts made with some stretch (like jersey) that does not have an elasticized waistband (drawstring is fine). Basically trying to find the least constricting shorts and since it's just for sleeping I am not concerned about them falling down. I have a few pairs bought from Target long ago, but they're falling apart and are no longer carried!

Key words are "yoga waistband". Usually there is no additional elastic in those, just stretchy fabric.

I think I remember owning something like this from Uniqlo a while back.

These are not the same shorts I had, but might meet your needs. I can't tell whether there's elastic but it looks like there might not be. You could ask their customer service to confirm.

These may not fit the way you want, but I just bought these long-leg women's boxer-briefs and they are phenomenal. The 1/4" band you see at the top is in theory elastic and will stretch when you pull it but as far as I can tell is really just there to keep the raw edge of the fabric from unraveling. They're incredibly soft, don't bind at the thigh or groin, and are now my preferred sleeping-drawers.

Soma's Cool Nights Pajama Shorts might work! I have the long pants version and I don't find them constricting at all (they are my favorite PJ pants).

The description online says "contoured elastic waistband", but it's really just stretchy fabric (unless they've changed the design in the last couple years, but the pictures look like the same waistband to me). They also have a drawstring version in the same "Cool Nights" line, but I have not tried them.

The kind of clothing that I dream about lately is very plain. I fritter away my time on eBay and Poshmark looking for pre-owned linen bathrobes and vintage navy blue sweaters. Stuff like that.

So when I read your question, I went right to a place that sells my fantasy threads in non-pre-owned (that is, new) condition: Rawganique! I haven't bought anything from them yet but I'm researching it.

I like their $29.95 Brahms Elastic-Free 100% Organic Prima Cotton Knit Boxers. (Maybe they mean "Pima Cotton"? I don't know.) Anyway, the reviews are favorable, and at least one says they're comfy enough to sleep in. And though the price is on the high side for underwear, I think it's pretty good for sturdy nightwear.

Because the Brahms shorts are made of a knit fabric, they'll have some stretch, but there's no elastic -- just a drawstring. Note that these are designed for AMAB people and that almost every reviewer remarks on how roomy they are. If you're interested in these shorts, you may have to have a backup plan of washing them in hot water the first time to shrink them.

(I really like Rawganique's masks. They're all either linen or organic cotton, and the website says you can wash them by boiling them. So much easier than worrying yet again whether my mask will fit my face after I've washed it. I haven't mastered that art yet.)
