Odd Ableton issue

As of this morning, the "arrangement record" button in Ableton doesn't actually start recording on an armed track--it will count in, but will not actually start recording (same result if I press record on my MIDI keyboard's transport controls). However, I can start recording by clicking the record circle on an individual clip, or if I have a clip highlighted and click "session record." Is this just a bug in the 10.1.25 update, or have I changed a setting by accident?

I'm new at Ableton--and using Live Lite 10.1.25, which seems to have updated this morning for me. Since I'm just using the free version, I can't post a question to Ableton support.

To be clear, I'm talking about the circle labeled 1 in this image--it counts in, but doesn't actually start recording in a clip.

I've restarted my computer, and relaunched Ableton--but haven't tried erasing and reinstalling (if I do that, what do I need to do?). Any suggestions? Did I do this, or is this a bug from the update?

Full disk? Write permissions changed somewhere?

Response by poster: Neither of those seem to make sense, given that clicking elsewhere gets the recording started as usual. Can record, save, use all the transport functions (stop, back, loop etc.), but it the arrangement record doesn't actually record into a clip. So weird. I will probably erase and reinstall.

Have you tried different projects? Completely new project?

Maybe try resetting to default settings, using the suggestion for how to preserve your current preferences.
