'One in a million' describes my search experiences so far...

Another what-media-did-I-consume question. I've got the line "One in a million wasn't good enough for you" stuck in my head, and I haven't been able to figure out the song it's from.

I think it's the end of a chorus, and repeats throughout the song; it might get switched out with "...wasn't good enough for her" and "...wasn't good enough for me", with matching rhymes preceding it. I *think* that the singer was a guy singing in a sort of falsetto voice, descending over the course of the line. As far as instrumentation goes, I think it was a pretty standard indie rock song, but I'm much less sure on that.

There might also have been a line about how something "wouldn't do" in the chorus, if that helps narrow things down.

Thanks, all!

Best answer: When I Gave Up On You - Blondie?

We were one in a million galaxies
One in a million wasn't good enough for me
We were one in a million and you know it's true
One in a million wasn't good enough for you

Ah... my guess would have been the Pet Shot Boys' "One In A Million", which fits at least some of your criteria.
