Winter balcony plants

I am looking for some good plants for my balcony this winter. It is southeast facing and gets a lot of sun, in zone 6/7 (Central New Jersey). I am looking for types and sources for hearty winter plants that get a bit of height, if possible.

The balcony is about 3x9 feet, and has a lot of height and hooks for hanging plants. I am pretty good at taking care of low maintenance plants. I will also need to be able to have plants or cuttings mailed/delivered to my house, and plan to buy them online.

It doesn’t have the height, but if you like to eat kale, go for it. I live in a very cold winter climate where we will sometimes have killing frosts in early September, and kale will survive long after the regular growing season is over, even here. It tastes good (some say sweeter) after a frost.
