Help me identify a music video

A few years back I saw a music video that I'd like to revisit, but I can't remember the name of the artist or the song. *sheesh* I'm guessing many folks here have an interest in and deep knowledge of contemporary music, so I'm sure someone can answer this.
In the video you see a handsome young guy putting on make-up and female attire; he manages to look quite stunning when done but still fairly obviously male. He then sings a song, performing in front of an audience of mostly hostile-looking and/or bored looking people in what looks like an English social/community club. The audience are fairly mixed, some young, some much older. A few look like young Muslims. Their faces are a picture of muted contempt, incomprehension and disdain, but slowly, the passion and authenticity of the performance win them over. One young woman is spellbound, fascination and desire etched on her face. One guy can't stop himself gyrating to the music and before you know it just about the whole room are on their feet in transports of joy.
Haven't been able to get this scene out of my head. Be grateful for any answers.
