Hurry up, movies, or I'll wander away

Is there a way to watch online movies at accelerated speeds?

YouTube + ADD have trained me to enjoy watching videos at increased speed, usually at x1.25 speed if they're well made, and x2 speed if they're mediocre. Watching things at normal speeds seems glacially slow to me now- it feels almost like the actors are drunk and slurring their words when they speak at normal speed.

So- I'd like to watch fast movies and TV shows across platforms.
I watch stuff on HBO Crave, Amazon Prime, and Netflix, in Canada.
I'm looking for a Chrome extension or similar.
I'm not suuuuper tech savvy for stuff like this, so very clear / step-by-step instructions would really help me!
Thanks!

Lifehacker just did a roundup on this, focused on Netflix but with some other things thrown in.

I've found that for Netflix US I can download and then the option to change speed shows up for most shows. Just streaming does not give me an option to use it.

Video Speed Controller works on most internet video. It has a convenient keyboard shortcuts too.

I use Video Speed Controller also.
It's a chrome extension and seems to work most places.

Go to the link that gregr posted, add to chrome and then whenever you open a page with a video on it there will be a little speed indicator box in the corner automatically. You can click on that to change the speed or use the keyboard shortcuts. (I didn't know about the keyboard short cuts! Thanks!)
