Tell me about the best house coat/bathrobe

I'd like to give my wife a really awesome soft/fluffy bathrobe/house coat. Recommendations appreciated!

My wife has expressed an interest in a new/nicer bathrobe and I'm doing the research to find something decadently fluffy and comfy. We're looking for "fluffy," not "silky," for what it's worth. Purple is her favorite color, so, options that are available in purple get priority, but if it's amazingly comfy and only available in a more neutral color, I think she's open to the idea. If there's clarifying info it would be helpful to have, I can ask and report back.

I have lived in a version of this Natori robe for years, but it looks like it's unavailable on their website now (I assume the pandemic supply chain issues might make this search harder). If you can find it somewhere else, it's a great robe, and comes in lighter purple (mine is a dark purple I don't see much anymore). I do see Natori has a few other cozy robes, like a cashmere fleece, but nothing in purple, which is also my fave color.

I don't know how great the UGG clothes are, I've only bought shoes, but this one comes in a light lilac and has a hood.

I see super cozy, soft robes often in small specialty stores where I live, like home boutiques and the like, but they're almost always white or a neutral color. If you're willing to go more neutral, those might be some good options. In my opinion, the best cozy robes are below the knee for most of the year, above the knee for summer, and big shawl collars and cuffed sleeves on the first but less collar and sleeve for the second. So that might be worth asking her about, if she has a preference for that. A friend of mine thinks I'm a loon for having two robes for different seasons, but I just can't handle the bulkier one when it's hot.

If you choose something that's made from pure cotton, it can easily be dyed purple. So that could broaden your options.

I just bought a cotton muslin waffle robe (with pockets!) from the Tofino towel company. It’s very soft, but only in neutrals.

LL Bean or Saranoni. I like Barefoot Dreams but it pills too fast.

I bought a version of this* Pottery Barn robe at an outlet because as soon as I felt it, I just could not put it down. It is so super super soft, decadent, fluffy. Like a soft fluffly blanket, definitely not a cotton terry. I wasn't very excited by the color, but it felt so great that I was very happy to overlook it.

They have some other robes, although none in purple, like these faux fur ones, so might be worth taking a look if you can (in person).

* I bought mine a few years ago, different color to these ones, and can't say for sure that they are exactly the same today.

Slightly leftfield suggestion but I got this Dream Cloak from Electrothreadz recently and I love it so much. It's soft and fleecy and warm and it has pockets!

I own something called a "sherpa fleece robe" from Land's End in light purple and it's amazing, although depending on your climate it might be too warm. I only wear this in cooler months and even then only when relaxing on the couch - if I start to move around too much I get too hot.

It's no longer available on the LandsEnd site but it is on Amazon here

Response by poster: Took me a month or two to sort out the budget, but I got my wife the LL Bean Wicked Plush Robe, and she is in love with it. Thank you, XtineHutch!
