Musical send-off for a best friend

My best friend, who has also been my karaoke buddy for most of our adult life, is leaving our city for a new professional opportunity. Which song can I record for her?

She just told me she was leaving in a few weeks, and after sleeping on it, I think we'll be okay with Zoom etc., but not being able to go to karaoke together will be sad. We live in Japan, so karaoke for us is renting our own small room/booth and singing whatever we want, just the two of us, either taking turns out together. This will be fairly hard to do online with the delays, setting up background music that we both can hear, thin Japanese walls, and schedule conflicts, and I will really miss her wonderful singing voice. There are some songs that I much prefer in her voice over the original artist, so I asked her to record a song for me. We'll probably do that next week when we meet for karaoke before she leaves. (It's safe enough to do here, please don't worry.)

She said she always wants to record me. I take singing lessons, so am a passable singer and have a bunch of songs I sing that she likes, but I also want to prepare something new for her as a surprise. Can anyone think of a good friendship song, preferable about long distance friendships or life-long friendships that go through different life stages? English is okay, bonus points for Japanese.

Way back, we went to see Wicked together, and I am kind of considering doing a solo version of For Good, but maybe she'll surprise me and finally remember her part next week. We both love it, but I am way more obsessed and more into musical style songs whereas she does more pop and folk music. She also likes Avril Lavigne, Kelly Clarkson, and some other Western artist, but her favorite singer is the Japanese musician Kokia.

This might be a longshot but the first thing that came into my head was Stay Free by the clash.

This doesn’t answer your question, but I’ve been pleasantly surprised at singing over Zoom. Duets are not great but solo stuff is decent!

I've sung Goodnight Sweetheart as a sendoff (to a work colleague) before.

You've Got a Friend, James Taylor. Admit I'm not a karaoke regular so not sure how good it is from that point of view, but if a good friend sent me that when I was moving away, I'd be a puddle on the floor.

"Raise you up" from Kinky Boots? Here's a Japanese version.
