Spicy Italian Fudge

I've got some spicy Italian fudge I bought years ago at a farmer's market. It's still very good, and I'm hoping someone will know of a similar product or recipe. The fudge is slightly grainy. I'm not sure what the spices are, but anise and cayenne are plausible.

It has a label which says Valente's Italian Specialties-- est. 2017, but the business with that name doesn't know anything about ever having sold fudge. The farmer's market was at the fountain on Passyunk in Philadelphia.

Panforte is a spiced sometimes spicy cocoa containing fudge-ish dessert from Italy, could it be that?

Response by poster: momus_window, that looks interesting, but what I've got seems to be a lot simpler. No honey (not sticky), fruit, or nuts.

Could it be Penuche (penucci), an Italian fudge? It's generally vanilla flavoured but fudge is adapatable to all different flavours.

Response by poster: essexjan, conceivably. I should have said that this one is dark chocolate, balanced so that it isn't bitter and it isn't especially sweet.
