I'm looking for the source of a quote that refers to "a unity vaguely comprehended." Someone mentioned that the source might be Joseph Keppler but that's not for sure. Any help?

Best answer: Eric Bently said "a unity vaguely apprehended" in referring to the astronomer Johannes Kepler in a 1991 book about drama.

If that's it, it looks like Bently is quoting Bergson who is quoting Ribot (p. 160. I can't get the direct link to work) The wording isn't exactly the same but it's translated from French.
