Looking To Purchase Thin Tee's In Bulk

I am planning to sell silk-screened t-shirts on-line. (Think The Gap's "Inspi-red" campaign a while ago) As of now when I go to buy bulk in Los Angeles, the tee's are thick Hanes/Fruitof the Loom grade. Thin cotton is still too stiff. Where can I find thinner versions (P.S. I know very little fashion lingo and don't know what to call this style of tee)

Try the term "featherweight".

If you're ordering on-line, I've found these to be a nice weight (for comfort). I dye them.

For maximum thinness and minimum stiffness, you need something that is not pure cotton, e.g. a cotton/poly blend or, for a slightly different texture, a cotton/poly/rayon tri-blend. Most t-shirt wholesalers do cotton/poly and many to the tri-blend. The obvious option in LA is American Apparel, whose cotton/poly is branded "50/50" and whose Tri-Blend is branded, well, "Tri-Blend". They (or their parent company Gildan) do wholesale if you want lots.

If you don't wish to be associated with American Apparel's ickiness, Next Level also makes a nice tri-blend.

I've ordered printed Next Level triblend shirts, and they are a soft and comfortable material. I would describe them as slightly thicker than the featherweight description, but much more comfortable than a cotton t.

I absolutely love the Bella + Canvas triblend tees and tanks to the point where when my husband ordered some from Threadless I wound up breaking my “no new clothes in 2020” vow to order some for myself. They are extremely thin, and very soft.

Another search term is 'tissue shirt wholesale'. You can also search by weight. Anvil makes a 3.2 oz shirt. Below that weight, silk screening can be a bit dicey.

I’m another fan of Bella + Canvas. Regardless of brand, I’d recommend ring-spun cotton for softness.

And to not abuse the edit window: shirtspace.com has a great selection of several brands at pretty decent prices, and I haven’t had any bad experiences with them.
