IANL: Rules around work-trade OR volunteer agreements for 508c orgs

I'm working with a 508(c) organization that offers room and board in exchange for work. How can we set up a contract for volunteering or work-trade to ensure that we are working within the law and not liable. Colorado

This organization has cabins and RV space, meals, and some programming provided to volunteers who need it. But we want to make sure volunteers don't request additional compensation that we don't have (and won't be sued for it). What legal arrangements can be made for this?

We have liability forms (in case someone gets hurt), but we don't yet have a work/volunteer agreement that we are confident in.

Alternatively, can a 508(c) have a work-trade agreement where work is exchanged for room, board, and possibly programming? What is that called?

For confidence about your specific situation and all of the laws that may apply, the organization can get a lawyer (MeFi Wiki) for a consultation, and as a bonus, then have an established relationship with an attorney if there are more questions in the future.
