There is a movie where someone is petting a sewer rat and they think its a cat. And someone tells the person they're mistaken and petting a rat. Does anyone know what movie? It went something like this: What a nice cat. Excuse me mam, thats a sewer rat!
maybe derived from the Mexican Pet urban legend.

In an episode of Friends, Monica is at her parent's and thinks she's found an old stuffed animal. But it's a dead rat/mouse.

That is one truly entertaining movie that stands up after nearly 20 years.

What happened to Hughes? Ferris Bueller's day off and Adventures in Babysitting and Vacation were absolute classics.....I really wish he would do something for the 21st century.....

What happened to Hughes?
He wrote 'Beethoven' and 'Dennis The Menace'. Then, to put the final nail in his coffin, he murdered 'Miracle on 34th Street'.
For these sins, the Gods of Good Taste sentenced him to wander the earth as a zombie scriptwriter, eating his own brains then regurgitating them as scripts. Forever...

Of course for some real relative humour (note the addition of the letter 'U' there) The Siberian Hamster episode of Fawlty Towers really needs to be seen. "It's a RAT." "No No No iz a Siberian Hamster Mr Fawlty!")

Best answer: To be more specific, Chris (the babysitter, played by Elisabeth Shue), has a friend named Brenda who's stuck at the nasty bus station and needs to be picked up (thus triggering the aforementioned Adventure). Throughout the movie we cut back to Brenda's plight at the bus station. At some point her glasses are either broken or stolen (I think the latter), and in her half-delirious state she spots a fuzzy black creature in the distance. The "Excuse me, ma'am, but that's a sewer rat!" guy is a janitor in the bus station.
I thought I was the only person who still likes that movie. And yeah, Thor is totally awesome.

I think Brenda fell asleep and when she woke up, the homeless lady had stolen her glasses.
