How can I get the $500 child benefit pandemic stimulus funds (US)?

I received the $1200 from the US Government in stimulus funds. However, I had a baby after January 1st this year and did not receive the $500 child benefit, probably because my child was not listed as a dependent on my 2019 taxes. Is it possible for me to receive the $500, and if so, how do I do that? My sleep-deprived self has not been able to find the answer on the IRS website, please help.

Do you need the money now? I think technically, the funds received are an advance [refund? credit?] on your 2020 taxes, so you'll get more money back (or owe less) than you otherwise would when you file your 2020 taxes.

Best answer: You can’t get it until you file taxes next year. IRS.gov: “ A29. The Payment in 2020 will not include an additional amount for these children because the Payment in 2020 is based only on information from your 2019 or 2018 tax return. You may claim the child next year for an additional credit on your 2020 tax return.” https://www.irs.gov/coronavirus/economic-impact-payment-information-center#eligibility
