Explain this key! Samsung phone edition.

I use a Google sheet on a Samsung phone. When I enter a number into a number-formatted cell, it displays the number keypad shown here. To the right of the 9 key, there is a key (circled red) labeled with what looks like a decimal point and a minus sign. What does this key do?
