Playlist: This one's for the girls!

What are your recommendations for songs by women, for women, celebrating girlhood? Country music is my favorite, but all things sisterhood will work. Old standards, coming-of-age, DTMF ballads, looking back on a life well-lived. Girls are doing it for themselves.

You’d probably enjoy anything by the Topp Twins (Lynda and Jools) - start with ‘Untouchable Girls’. A snippet of the song from a doco about these two strong, funny, inspiring and clever New Zealand women: Topp Twins

If you're okay with super poppy music...

That's My Girl - Fifth Harmony. Ultimate confidence, girl power song. So much fun to sing along to
Power - Little Mix (similar vibe to That's My Girl)

I have a soft spot for Taylor Swift's Girl At Home, it's a song where she tells this guy to stop hitting on her and go back home to his GF.
Run the World (Girls) is always a good option
Good As Hell by Lizzo for a DTMF song
Don't You Know You're Beautiful - Kellie Pickler
The Daughters - Little Big Town

Cat Power, "Good Woman"

And here's one in French, sung by a man, but which certainly strikes me as a celebration of womanhood: Jean Ferrat, "La femme est l'avenir de l'homme", which roughly translates to "Women are the future of man"

P.S. I'd also like to add a song conspicuous by its absence (perhaps it was considered too obvious?):
"(You Make Me Feel Like) A Natural Woman", by Aretha Franklin (though the original by Carole King is great as well)

Portishead, "Glory Box"

The entire album is gold, but you've got to hear "Redesigning Women" by The Highwomen.
