All the cool and educational free video content

I've been seeing a lot of free livestreams and cool new videotours online, like the Met's streaming operas, and the Cincinnati zoo's daily Zoo Safaris. Plus I know a lot of museums are doing virtual tours -- what else is out there right now to stream or enjoy? Looking for culture and informational and just plain cool things that are kid-appropriate.

Open Culture is always a pretty good resource for stuff like that.

Canadian band The Arkells have daily music lessons online on Instagram. Here's a CBC link about it with links to the account (sorry I don't have Instagram and don't know how to link directly to it).

Tune in to WildEarth on YouTube for a live, interactive safari in South Africa twice daily. Safaris are live at 06:00am – 09:00am and 15:30pm – 18:30pm Central African Time (CAT).

During safaris you can ask questions in the YouTube comments or by using the hashtag #WildEarth on Twitter. The guides do their best to answer as many questions as possible live, on air.

Some of the suggestions here are DC specific, but many can be done or accessed anywhere (table of contents below the big photo). One featured option is The Big List of Children’s Authors Doing Online Read Alouds & Activities.
