8" Tablet cover that does portrait mode

I finally had to give up on my beloved Nexus 7. It had a Roocase cover that was fantastic, light and it easily did portrait mode. I did get a Samsung 8" Tab A that works ok and it fits in my murse. The only cover I found that does portrait mode is this one from Best Buy. It's clunky and larger than what needed. Could anyone point me to an 8" tablet cover that does portrait mode and are lighter than the clunky Best Buy one? I have Googled for days..

I'm not sure what you mean by clunky and larger than needed. When it comes to cases with stands you basically have two options, Folio and Rugged, as slim cases don't have built in stands.

You could try a separate kickstand, both claim they with 8" tablets, but I have reservations.

I have a Galaxy Tab E in that size, and a case like the "Rugged" case linked above. The "handle" part can rotate, and it contains the kickstand. I used my Tab E primarily for reading in landscape mode, but it'll rotate for portrait which I did for the occasional electronic comic book.

I'd say that's the exact case, but the brand is different, so I assume it's either one mfg selling through many names, or just a lot of very similar designs in a field of bad IP protection.

Response by poster: zinon, thanks for the pointers. Both my Nexus 7 case and the Best Buy one are folio cases that fold to hold the tablet in portrait mode. The folio case was very unstable in portrait mode. The rugged case doesn't fit in my murse ;-). The second kickstand did work but wobbled. The winner is the first kickstand. Stable, easy to carry and holds the Tab A perfectly. And it was $4.48 for three. With a good screen protector, I really don't need a case, especially since Samsung didn't implement the magnetic screen switch.
