We require more Breath of the Wild content

My 7 year old son is a big fan of The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, and a less than enthusiastic reader. I've discovered that he will happily read BotW fancomics, and I have a collection on my iPad for him. He also likes a few tweets I've found -- this one about riding a bear and setting the forest on fire is basically the height of comedy in his world. I'm looking for more funny, age-appropriate BoTW tweets to add to his collection.

I think I've pretty much found all the fancomics I can (spent a lot of time on Pinterest, Tumblr, DeviantArt, knowyourmeme) although I'm happy to have links to any particularly good ones. But I'm sure there's a ton of funny Breath of the Wild tweets out there, and I've only found a few. Any other Breath of the Wild content I'm overlooking would be great, too!

(Not particularly looking for book recommendations in general -- he has books he likes, but 'Linkie comics' are treasured beyond compare.)

It's not a lot, but I have to admit that the last tweet linked here, in which a Yiga reveals himself only to get immediately bodied out of frame by a stasis'ed crate going a thousand miles an hour, never fails to bring a smile to my face.

Not a comic, but Chocolate Milk Gamer has a playlist of her funny BOTW videos that, as I understand, are catnip to this age group. (I think they're hilarious, too.)

Response by poster: Thank you so far! I think he would like the videos and I will share them with him at some point, but my focus is on things he can read -- for him to be this excited about reading things is rare. However, I can make use of anything! (The videos would probably make great rewards for doing his spelling practice...)

Just in case you haven't seen it, since it's not primarily a BOTW comic-- Awkward Zombie's BOTW comics are gold. The only one that might not be age appropriate is Trouble Afoot, which is a little gore-y.

I was going to make an Imgur collection of my fave BOTW text posts on Tumblr (which seems like it would fall in the same category) but apparently I'm terrible at tagging things, so this is the paltry offering I have.

Not a book but I found my son really enjoyed the armory section of the museum due to BOTW and even took a little more time in the ancient art section.

I occasionally will show good clips from reddit - Breath_of_the_Wild to him.

Semi related, Nintendo Power ran a series of A Link to the Past comics about a million years ago. You can buy them as a graphic novel now.

https://www.amazon.com/Legend-Zelda-Link-Past/dp/1421575418

It's not strictly BotW, but if Link is the main requirement that might be helpful.

They also printed Star Fox comics (which were fine) and Mario Bros comics (which were GREAT), in case either of those are also relevant to your interests.

I haven't read it but Making a Champion gets the most recs of the Nintendo books on Reddit: https://www.amazon.com/Legend-Zelda-Breath-Wild-Creating-Champion/dp/1506710107/ref=mp_s_a_1_4?keywords=link+making+a+champion&qid=1583526336&sr=8-4

There are some nice hardcover Breath of the Wild/Zelda art books out there. Also there is official Legend of Zelda manga that has been translated to English.

Just making sure you've seen the "Local Wild Man..." headline-style comic series. The author also published a book of them, but the headlines are in an index instead of next to the images. I prefer the twitter format.

The Breath of the Wild subreddit is very active. Posts are mainly videos and memes, but there’s also lots of discussion of the game, which involves reading. I haven’t come across content that isn’t safe for kids.

If he's into food at all he might like the beautiful Hyrule Taste of the Wild fanzine, which reads like a recipe magazine. Becoming familiar with the formatting of a recipe is a great skill to have and is pretty different from narrative writing. Loads of pretty fanart, too.

The Making a Champion book that typecloud references on Amazon is quite lovely and my BOTW-obsessed child has spent hours thumbing through it. It's huge and heavy and gift-worthy.
