Have you used a virtual mailbox?

We're getting rid of our bricks and mortar office and are considering a virtual mailbox like travelingmailbox.com for both business and personal use. We might receive some important checks or other documents so it has to be reliable.

We're wondering what the process and turnaround time for these services is like and which one you'd recommend. Have you used one with a check depositing service? Thank you, hive mind!

I used Mail Link Plus when I was living overseas, and I've got nothing but good things to say about them. They were reliable and reasonably priced. I used them for mail/package forwarding, not for any scanning or check deposit services.

I've used St. Brendan's Isle (SBI) for about 10 years. Their process is: Junk mail in the trash, scan enevlope exteriors for the rest. Scans are almost always available on their site the same day. You select to either shred, open & scan, or forward to a physical address. The scans are downloadable pdfs.

Check deposit is available in their highest priced package. I've never used it.

If SBI isn't for you, I suggest reading their security features. At the time I enrolled, they were the best I found. Might be useful in comparing between other services.

We currently use SBI and are really happy about it. We’ve also heard good things about Dockside Services. We initially used Traveling Mailbox and were unhappy with their customer service, turnaround time, and how they handled packages (which had to be mailed to a different address than the one assigned to you and god forbid your family member surprises you and mails you a gift) and did I mention their customer service was rude?

I've used Earth Class Mail for years, although the price has gone up since its inception.

Response by poster: Thanks all! This is very helpful. Good to know about customer service for Traveling Mailbox, vivzan, because I was definitely considering that one. I'm a bit constrained by where the address can be, so I was interested in Earth Class Mail, but it seems much more expensive for my location than the others. It's good to know that people have services they like.
