Where to watch dog agility in Chicago?

I saw a dog agility event once in Chapel Hill. Now I want to do it again, in Chicago. I cannot find any events listed of this type, but there must be some agility competition for the 4 gajillion dogs here. Where?

You can use this AKC events calendar to search for agility events.

There's not going to be an event every weekend or anything like that. I used to do rally obedience with my dog and there'd be a competition we could get to maybe once every couple of months. A lot of agility activity is people practicing at their own private clubs and schools.

Came to post that search too -- note that agility is a companion event, not a performance event, because who the hell knows. You might also look at the USDAA calendar here , but the web page isn't set up as well.

AKC-wise, there's a trial on now in Spring Grove, one next weekend in Manhattan, and the weekend after in Campton Hills. I am not up on my Geography of Chicagoland And Surrounding Environs to know which of those might be convenient.

AKC manages shows such that if there's a show one place this weekend, there won't be another show within some wide radius of that show, so basically anywhere will have 0 or 1 shows close-ish by.

Best answer: You're in luck! NADAC's website lists several upcoming events in Illinois. NADAC is the North American Dog Agility Council. Which is sort of the sport's governing body.

(Keep a good thought for me - my little girl has three days of Barn Hunt trial this week. Yay, dog nerds!)

Best answer: Others have already mentioned AKC, USDAA, and NADAC, but one more agility organization to keep an eye on is CPE (Canine Performance Events). It looks like they have a few Illinois trials coming up in March!

Response by poster: The only reason I didn't 'best answer' everything is that some web search sites worked for me, and some didn't. But I'll use the information anyway! Thank you!
