Looking for some sneakers

Looking for some work shoes, have a brand recommendation, but which ones?

Hi folks!

I'm on my feet a lot at work as a vet tech, and am in need of some new shoes. I've previously just bought cheapish Skechers, which are fine but don't last long. A few people have recommended Asics, but not specific models. I browsed their site but do you have any personal recommendations?

I wear the Gel-Nimbus every day. It’s their model focused on cushioning. Highly recommend.

When I was in grad school and working 10+ hours in a lab, I wore the Brooks Glycerin shoes all day. They are running shoes, but the cushioning is unparalleled, IMHO.

For something a little different, try either Hoka or Altra shoes. I have friends that work in retail that swear by either brand.

I'm a huge Asics fan. Comfy, comfy shoes with plenty of toe room. I wear 'em every day as my daily drivers. That said, I have to agree with ydaltak about shoesforcrews. Great, comfy, work shoes, with an emphasis on non-slip performance. Reasonably priced, too.

Their lines are largely black, because that's what most work environments call for (ex: food service), but they definitely have a good selection of more colorful athletic-styled shoes, that would probably look nicer in a vet's office.

My old feet are totally in love with the several pair of Hokas I have. Hokas come in one of three levels of cushion, and you can filter by level on their website to see the models with a specific level. I have two models - the Clifton 6s are a running/road shoe and the Speedgoat 3s are trail runners (their new replacement model is a 4). They are both rated as having mid-level cushioning, but are still softer than any shoe I've ever owned. I would have purchased the Bondi 6s, which are a higher plush level running shoe, but they didn't work for me for unrelated reasons.

I do a *lot* of walking on pavement and the soles on these do seem to (maybe) be wearing perhaps a bit faster than some previous brands. But my feet do. not. care. whether that's true or not and want them and only them always.
