What is this 1980s-1990s TV theme song from?

What's the theme song in track 1 of this album (GATEWAY 2000 by MindSpring Memories) from? The track in question is called "□ flickering ◻ monitors □ in ◻ the □ twilight ◻". The theme song starts at 1:45. Track 2 is a General Hospital theme from the mid-'90s, so it may be another soap opera theme or it could be a drama/sitcom.

I just tried picking out the tune on my piano. Seems like G major (no surprise there, I think), starting with D-A-B, then A-B-D. Goes back down G-F#-E, then back up F#-G before going up about an octave.

I went through a compilation of soap opera theme songs, and the closest I came was General Hospital from about 1990 to 2000 or so, but it's slightly different intervals, so I don't think so.

Wish I could be more help, but maybe that's a start.

I took a listen to track 2 and, while there's one bit of flourish that stands out as sounding like Dave Koz's Faces of the Heart, the 1993 GH theme, it doesn't seem like it's based on the same song.

I couldn't place track 1 to a theme song. Did some googling on the artist and there's no connection with TV, as best I could trace and these seem to be original recordings. Are you certain that this album is based on TV theme music?

I've only barely listened to the sax, but it sounds a lot like a very slow version the Growing Pains theme.

Response by poster: I ended up writing the label and am now going to write the artist.

Flight Hardware, I agree that it's similar but not General Hospital. It's so very soap opera-y!

vivzan, since it's vaporwave, which is usually totally based on samples of other material, it's most likely that it isn't an original theme of the artist. Especially since on the artist's page it says "100% PLUNDERPHONICA".

Wild_Eep (how I love your username and the sound from whence it came), I just listened to a bunch of GP themes and I don't think that's it :/

I appreciate all y'all's help and I'll update if I hear back from the artist!

fiercecupcake, I missed the 100% plunderphonica line on the site. Looking forward to hearing what you find out, as I'm super curious what the story is!

Response by poster: Y'all, I have some awesome answers from the artist themself. I love the internet.

Yes yes, track 2 is related to the General Hospital theme Basically, Dave Koz wrote Faces Of The Heart for his 1993 album (which I LOVE and have sampled other songs from). So Faces Of The Heart is what I sampled. However, his song was re-worked to be more upbeat for the General Hospital theme! So, basically I sampled the *original* version of the GH theme.

The Richard Elliott song I sampled in the first track is Sweet Dream. If it was a TV theme, I don't know about it. I searched for Richard Elliott Sweet Dream TV theme and didn't find anything.
