Where do you buy new records online?

I've stepped back into the world of having a decent record player and would like some new (in-print) records. I have a few stores around for hunting for vintage stuff but would like an online resource for current production with a good selection, reasonable prices, and a shipping department that will ensure they show up safely.

I'm trying to use Amazon less, so they're not the solution I'm looking for here. I'm not necessarily searching for super esoteric stuff most of the time so I don't need the widest possible selection but I don't want to get the itch to order something and constantly find that it's going to be backordered for a month. Some place with a decent "recommended if you like" feature would be a plus.

You might have good luck with Rough Trade. I also buy a fair amount of vinyl via Bandcamp and Discogs, but neither are centralized fulfillment.

Amoeba is great for this. You can filter/sort by genre, format, and type (new/used/etc) and they often have cool exclusives. Plus, free shipping in the US.

Ditto bandcamp (you'll also be feeding the artist some cash directly when you buy on bandcamp, which is a plus). lp.reverb.com is also a great way to browse many individual record stores and sellers.

Nthing Amoeba & Bandcamp. I also often order directly from the record label.

Forced Exposure is a good distributor, and they also do direct sales.

Besides the general issues with Amazon, I've also had major issues with how they ship records in the past.

I've ordered from Amoeba and Bull Moose in the past with great success.

And of course Discogs. Better for used, but tons of new inventory as well.

My local record shop, Seasick Records, have updated inventory online, keep a good selection, and are generally all around awesome humans. They often put exclusives for local artists (Jason Isbell, Alabama Shakes) online as well.

I can recommend Bleep, if you're into their kind(s) of music. They sell a lot of stuff that would be hard to find elsewhere, and their packaging is very very good.

Also seconding Rough Trade.

Perhaps you could clarify what kind of music you'd like on vinyl, because it seems like everyone is getting into this (see: Disney Music Emporium, which has some amazing picture discs), if they weren't already.

Can attest that Merge and the Grapefruit Records Club do shipping great. Catalogs are a self selecting but if you are into that sort of thing, both are awesome (even more niche is Teen Beat on vinyl, but I swear Mark R just goes into his storage locker and throws in random postcards from 1992 for every purchase).
