Looking for a Switch game with minecraft crafting elements

I recently skimmed a review for a Switch game that had Minecraft elements and a far more dynamic plot and gameplay setting. Unfortunately, I can't remember much more than that and looking through Metacritic isn't helping. I know that the game was well-reviewed.

Response by poster: Yes, I think it was Dragon Quest builders. Even if not, that one is sufficiently highly reviewed and has the RPG/construction elements.

Another sandbox game, similar to Minecraft (although in 2D) is Terraria.

I’m an embarrassing number of hours into Dragonquest Builders 2. I think it fits your description.
