How can someone post a short text anonymously?

A friend has a short text (~500 words) that they would like to share with like-minded people without it getting tied back to them.

It's just this one piece, so they are not interested in an anonymous blog. It does not involve anything criminal, just an opinion piece that seeks to capture an experience that many people have but often have a hard time talking about, especially because discussing it openly can result in reprisals. Can you recommend a website where you can upload a text using an incognito browser, and get a URL that you can share that will stay good for a long while? Or is there a better method?

This sounds like a good use for pastebin.

Pastebin should work for this, if you don't care about formatting. Just set "Paste exposure" to Unlisted so it won't get automatically added to the Public Pastes list.

How to pass along the URL without that getting potentially traced back to you is a trickier problem.

Put the text in a gif and upload to imgur?

Post it to txt.fyi using the Tor Browser.

Technicalities aside, there's a good chance the text can be traced back to them by writing style.

you could register an anonymous account on Reddit and post in a relevant sub-forum.
