Trying to find an animated short I once saw

An animation about - I think - a couple of characters lost at sea?

I think I saw it on the internet. It features two people - I think they might be anthropomorphic animals of some kind - and they're lost at sea. The animation shows their circumstances getting worse and worse, while meanwhile the spoken narration goes on about (I think) the stuff they were doing every day before disaster struck - you know, ironic counterpoint and all.

The image that's always stuck with me is one scene, where one of the characters' feet falls off, I think into the ocean as it dangling over the side of whatever makeshift raft (?) they're using.

Does this sound familiar to anybody else? Sorry for the vague description.

Were the two characters an owl and a pussycat?

Best answer: The Event by Julia Pott? It matches a lot of your description - there is a lost foot and a raft, although it doesn't have that exact scene.

Response by poster: Limnerent, that's it! I'm glad I was able to remember enough of it to be figured out.
