Does the Apple Watch 5 have fall detection? Nobody I’ve been able to reach at Apple seems to know. Do you?

Best answer: Yes, it's noted about three quarters of the way down this page on Apple's site.

Why the hell didn't this exist 10 years ago? My grandfather spent 3hours crawling the length of his (not very big) bungalow to reach the phone.

Actually, yeah, I knew this sort of thing existed but he was a stubborn git who would never have written anything that appeared to be for this purpose. A common watch, however, he probably would have accepted...
