Recommend me your favourite padded cycling underpants, UK women

I’m trying to get back into cycle commuting and I’d really like some underpants with padding (not full cycling shorts) to wear underneath my 3/4 length trousers.

I’ve got a couple of pairs of cycling shorts, and they’re fine, but I wear them under 3/4 length trousers, and the shorts fabric is kind of slippy-slidey, which makes my trousers ride down at the back. The shorts are also unnecessarily long if I’m wearing them with another layer, which makes them a bit too huggy and suffocating for my liking. I’d love the padding without quite the same quantity of outer fabric, and cycling underpants look like they might fit the bill. Also, I’d like more than 2 pairs, and buying padded pants seems cheaper than buying more shorts. Chamois padding would be ideal, but I'm open to other types if they work well - both padding and anti-chafing in a relatively small package is the dream!

I’m not interested in cycling in just the cycling shorts.

Happy to buy online, but needs to be easy to order/return within the UK. I live in a city with access to most of the main chains (Evans/Decathlon etc) and several indie bike stores. However, I’ve not really seen any in stores, so personal recommendations would be appreciated. If it makes a difference, I’m a size 12, curvyish. My commute is about 8-9 miles, takes me about an hour.

I’ve seen this question but it’s about someone who wants regular pants to wear with padded shorts, so not really relevant.

My precious parts thank you in advance!

Response by poster: Forgot to say: They don't need to be comfortable for all-day wear - I'll change when I get to work. Non-slippery outer material a bonus, to avoid the slip-sliding effect I'm getting with the shorts.

Sorry if this is obvious, but cycling underpants may also be called liner shorts (or just liners). The slip-sliding effect might be avoided by wearing something like cycling panties rather than trying to find underpants with non-slippy material. UK-based Total Women's Cycling reviews some here.

I'm not a woman, but women I know like the briefs made by Swedish brand Craft. German seller Rose Bikes will deliver them to the UK.

Scottish brand Endura makes quality liners, most of which can be found on the Evans website if they're not in your local Evans shop.

Response by poster: For clarity: Yes, it's specifically 'panties' I'm looking for ie. short underpants that stop before they reach your legs. The long 'liners' that go down onto your thighs are what I'm trying to avoid.

IANAW either, but I bought some padded cycling knickers for my SO from VeloVixen. They stock their own brand and also distribute Urbanist products from the US (as reviewed in the article Theory links above) so they have a range of styles to suit different needs. Not cheap, but they seem to be good quality.
