I'm trying to remember a webcomic. The basics: it was on the artist's personal site where he had other ongoing comics as well. The comic was about a little girl-creature whose story started out in the laboratory of a scientist doing experiments on her. Eventually she was discarded by the scientist, whom she regarded as her father. And then it went downhill from there...

Context:
I was reading about different webcomics over a decade ago when I came across this one that was noted for how brutal/mean/sadistic it was as it told the story of the main character. She was some kind of folkloric being wlth little horns on her head.

The story as I remember it:
At the start of the story, the girl was in captivity, but she was discarded, literally thrown out with the trash as I recall. She lived on the streets where in various episodes, she was brutalized in different ways by the people she came across, to the point that she ended up without any arms or legs, though she could still get around. Eventually she was taken in by a man and a woman who treated her like their own child with love and kindness. Maybe a happy ending? No. The scientist for some reason wanted her back, so the man and woman were killed and the girl was taken back. That's all I remember and I don't recall if the webcomic ended at that point or if further episodes were released.

The other day, something dredged this up. Reading this webcomic the first time was a disconcerting experience to say the least, but for whatever reason, once I remember something, the urge to track it down doesn't go away. I've done about as much remembering as I can and my searches haven't gotten far due to search terms leading right away to all kinds of unrelated things.

Does anyone recall a webcomic like this from the aughts?

Best answer: Is it Nana's Everyday Life by Dan Kim? (Don't read unless you're prepared for gratuitous violence and cruelty of a 4channish bent.)

And now everyone knows that I read this comic...

Nana is a character in the very dark and disturbing manga/anime Elfen Lied. This is a rather light-hearted fanfic by comparison. In the story, Nana is a good character who wants to do good and win her father's approval despite the terrible things that happen to her.
